"Dear Creative Industry,
Thanks for ignoring my emails, tweets, Facebook messages, compliments, smiles, taking time out to look through your, often dull, portfolios stuffed with branding exercises and digital hand jobs. Thanks for not taking two minutes to look through my portfolio, not taking two minutes to tell me ‘no’ and for generally taking my five years of education for granted.
Thanks for not re-tweeting, not following me back, not ‘liking’ my posts. Thanks for telling me one thing but doing another. Thanks for pretending to be my friend - friends don’t ignore each other.
Thanks for letting me work for free with no prospect of a full time job. Thanks for letting me pay my own ridiculous bus and train fares, only to have the bus or train delayed and having to battle my way through a million other pedestrians, in suits, with real jobs, just to get to your oh-so-rustic office in some ‘cool’ dive in East London. Thanks for telling me ‘It will be good for my portfolio’, ‘It’s tight all round in this recession’ and ‘If we could pay you we would’.
Thanks for nothing."
